Press Release Body = A new series of quick guides to the big global issues is
published this week. Pocket Issue - small briefs for a big world - provide the "time
poor" amongst us with short and snappy briefings on subjects from Global Warming to
the Arab-Israeli Conflict.

Cool, intelligent and entertaining, Pocket Issue cuts through the sound bite culture
to swiftly give readers the facts and history behind the big challenges facing our
world today. Impartial, with no political agenda, each short book has been widely
researched and peer reviewed by experts to ensure accuracy. The first two briefs are
Pocket Issue, Global Warming and Pocket Issue, The Energy Crisis, with The
Arab-Israeli Conflict and The War on Terror to be published next month. Future
titles include, Globalisation and Food.

"Most of us have listened to the news (or a dinner party bore) and wished we knew
more about a subject. Pocket Issue briefs you on the really big issues - long enough
to explain the history and the facts, short enough to fit in with our busy
lifestyle. In as little as 20 minutes Pocket Issue gives you the essence of the
debate and the confidence to speak up at the dinner table or the water cooler." Said
Publisher, Emma Hardcastle.

Priced at £4.99, Pocket Issue titles are available at Waterstones, Amazon and all
good bookshops.

About Pocket Issue Founded in 2006 by Emma Hardcastle, Pocket Issue's aim was to
bridge the gap between what we read or hear in the news and what we actually
understand, a simple "backgrounder" to important global issues. The idea for the
series gelled whilst Emma was on maternity leave with her second child (little else
did). Stuck in Shepherds Bush, listening to the rolling news coverage on the day of
the 7/7 bombings in London, she became frustrated that the news could never give the
listener enough background or perspective to truly understand the passing events.
What was missing was a short brief on the subject, long enough to explain the
history and the facts, short enough to fit in with a busy lifestyle. Pocket Issue
was born.
